Growing up with the smell of diesel fumes ingrained in his pores, as a result of his father being an owner-driver, it was inevitable Andy would work within the road transport industry in some fashion. He’s worked as a truck driver and in the traffic office and appreciates the extremely stressful and demanding nature of work in this sector. Having been Editor of Commercial Motor, he’s now Commercial Manager of the magazine and our website www.roadtransport.com.

In addition to contributing to and now editing road transport trade magazines, Andy has also had work published in the Financial Times, Irish Times and Irish Independent. In addition a reference book for children – the Pointer Book of Trucks – was published in 1994.

Andy is the current chairman of the International Truck of the Year jury and is also the UK jury member for the International Van of the Year award.
